The principals of Hay Creek Hospitality average over 30 years of experience in the hotel industry. We have an appreciation of the balance of dedication and training, challenge and compassion that goes into developing a cadre of personnel able to serve the needs of our demanding clientele. Employees and managers all have a stake in their hotels because all participate in a profit sharing program developed specifically to generate and reward their commitment. From busboys to bartenders, sous-chef to dishwashers, guest service agent to management, all participate directly in the success of the hotel. 

The outstanding management team guiding Hay Creek Hospitality have served as executives in a number of the most prestigious hotel companies, including Omni Hotels & Resorts, Westin Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. As Company officers, they have demonstrated expertise in a broad range of lodging disciplines with extensive operations backgrounds (at every level), sales & marketing both at the unit & corporate levels, extensive experience in renovations & repositioning, and a background in asset acquisitions & disposals. Collectively our officers have played significant roles in connection with multi billion dollar lodging investments and the successful re-positioning of the industries’ most sought after brands.

Norman W. MacLeod: Hay Creek Hospitality President and CEO

Norman MacLeod founded Hay Creek Hospitality in April, 2005 to focus on the acquisition, renovation and repositioning of underperforming small, upscale independent hotels. Prior to starting Hay Creek, Mr. MacLeod, a hospitality industry leader for more than 30 years with such prestigious companies as Sheraton, Westin and Omni Hotels, most recently served with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide as Executive Vice President of Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, responsible for Starwood’s largest, most important brand. With his guidance the Sheraton brand has been dramatically re-positioned & reinvigorated and has achieved impressive gains in market share. 

He is a recipient of numerous hospitality industry awards (a 6-time winner of the coveted AHLA Gold Key Stars of the Industry Award) and an active participant in the travel & hospitality community, having served as a past chairman of the AHLA Marketing Committee, on numerous Convention and Visitors Boards, and on the advisory board of the Georgia State School of Hospitality.

Charles W. Scott: Principal

Mr. Scott has been a hospitality leader for more than 35 years, initially with Omni Hotels & Resorts and thereafter as President of the U.S. hospitality investments of Spain’s Barceló Hotels & Resorts (one of the world’s largest hotel & travel companies with more than 230 hotels in 16 countries). He began his career at the age of 12, working initially as a dishwasher at the Harborside Inn in Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard (MA). He is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
